Since 1982, there’s been only 99 cases of noncitizens voting in our elections. For those of you keeping score at home, that’s an average of 2.3 noncitizens voting per yr. And this is all according to the right-wing Heritage Foundation. Today’s show.👇 podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/t...

One thing that genuinely does mystify me, with no snark: Trump is one of the least masculine, least adult people in public life. Needy, whiny, defensive, pleading, scared of women & terrified of more powerful men.

I’m at a loss about why Trump’s base sees him as manly or strong.

“There is a cult of ignorance in the United States… The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that ‘my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.’”

In 1916, the US was worried that Germany might take control of the Danish West Indies to use as a submarine base. So, Denmark sold the Danish West Indies to the USA, with the colony becoming the US Virgin Islands. In exchange, the USA acknowledged Denmark's complete sovereignty over Greenland.

Remarkable how brutal the ruling against Trump on Abrego Garcia truly is: It details flagrant and malicious abuses of power all throughout. Trump and Stephen Miller were testing their ability to spread lawless state terror. But the court held the line. 1/

Fiasco for Trump as Judge Issues Harsh Rebuke in Abrego Garcia Case
Judge Paula Xinis’s ruling temporarily freed Kilmar Abrego Garcia from custody. It also savagely indicted Trump’s lawless handling of this whole affair from start to finish.

Is AI capable of responding to a query with a simple “I don’t know”? If it cannot and replies with specious “information,” I question its intelligence. It’s the same with people. It is the wise who know what they don’t know.

So if a guy exercises his 2nd amendment right and then shoots & kills a guy exercising his 1st amendment right the Trump administration’s response is regulating the 1st amendment but not the 2nd amendment?

Make it make sense.

It’s a commonplace these days to say of the current occupier of the White House that “every accusation is a confession.”

Emerson wrote something similar: ”People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.”

People might understand that the Constitutional checks and balances among the 3 branches of govt. are to prevent one branch from usurping the powers of another. But these checks also rein in racism, sexism, violence, fascism, totalitarianism, and corruption.

It's sad to see where we are now.

This administration is a sweeping instantiation of Stanley Milgrim’s famous experiment from the 1960s. The only differences are that the violence is real and the victims are not actors. Milgrim’s work had a profound impact on our understanding of obedience to authority. Have we learned nothing?
