I used to work for a hockey team and I used to live in Canada (not in that order). Now I do other stuff.

PEI, ATL, Thrashers nostalgia, random music, food takes, dad life
"Hey dad, do you have a hockey jersey I can wear for Halloween?"

There are 3 more hanging on the wall downstairs.

They all played for the #Thrashers and 6 of them were the team captain. The only captains that didn't fit anywhere were Holik and Ray Ferraro. Could've had a lower score if I used alternate captain Slava Kozlov instead of Kovalchuk.

Normalize selling ketchup flavoured potato chips in America.

These ones aren't great, but it's a start.

So colse. 8 out of 9 played for the Thrashers. There was no goalie option for Minnesota that played in Atlanta.

Not a bad way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Shrinkflation, compliments of Kroger. The size dropped by 20% but the recipe for tacos still calls for one packet of seasoning.

Donair meat is impossible to find in Georgia, so this will have to do.

I see your beach and raise you my beach.

Not a bad spot to spend an evening. Not bad at all. #PEI #SouthShoreistheBestShore

It's pretty tough to top the view flying into Prince Edward Island. #PEI

The people-watching at the Atlanta airport is always great, but don't forget about the bug-watching.

Everyone is drinking out of their Thrashers wine glasses to watch Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals tonight, right?

Pre-carved? What's the point of that?

Atlanta is weird. You can go for a walk around a suburban soccer complex while your kid is practicing and stumble across a fenced in area that turns out to be Civil War ruins.

This is a shoupade that was part of the Chattahoochee River defenses.

The average American has three friends.

Happy 19th birthday to Eddie, our ageless tuxedo wonder cat.

There's an Italian bakery (Guilia) opening two doors down from my wife's Petfolk animal hospital. That's going to be a constant temptation.

Happy election day Canada. Get out there and vote if you haven't already.

For what it's worth, I don't recommend living under a far-right gov't run by technobros. Vote wisely.

Look what I got in the mail today from Elections Canada.

My vote will be cast for a candidate in the last riding I lived in, which is in the Ottawa area.

Oh look... the garage door spring broke. Again. For the third time. Granted we've been in our house for 18 years, but that still seems like too many times.

Allow me to interrupt the doom posting with an uncle brag.

My niece, who is a junior at Wofford College, is tied for 6th in NCAA D1 softball complete games with 13 and is 36th in the country in ERA (1.78). Only 3 pitchers ahead of her have pitched more innings than her (110.1).
