I’m really looking forward to it. If you’re a fan of Tim Robinson and absurdist comedy, then I also absolutely loved The Chair Company

And just enough time to sneak Fallout season 2 on there!

I almost messaged something similar. The attack line seems to be that she was wrong to try to give herself a bigger headroom this time round, and that doesn’t constitute as a spending need, yet at the same time she was wrong to leave herself too little headroom last time? It can’t be both!

To be clear, I think Lewis does a superb job of levying the claims against the government and equally testing those claims against opposition. My issue is that the program is led with the ‘lie’ as a theorem, a presumed truth to be challenged, not as an attack line to be questioned at source.

Very disappointingly, even Lewis’ show is leading with this, and how very ‘politically seriously’ it is that she’s lied.

Once a story takes hold within a uniform effort from right-wing papers, it seeps into (nearly) every coverage as if it is fact, without ever questioning the verity of the story.

One of the most incredible stage productions I’ve ever seen. That first reveal of Totoro is something everyone should experience. Can only imagine the joy of watching this either as a kid or with your own kids. Can’t recommend it enough!

When more trusted political commentators are all saying that the leaks are real and coming direct from the treasury though, of course people need to accept that fact.
November 27, 2025 at 11:29 AM
I think there has to be some forgiveness that the general public can come to this conclusion though. Regardless of leaking, papers like the Mail, Telegraph are going to report on every comment and non-comment as if it’s fact. There is undoubtedly baseless reporting going on and it muddies the waters

Getting big groups as students and playing Mafia was so much fun.

Even better as a Counsellor in an American summer camp. Watching Beijing exchange kids that barely spoke a word of English at the start, pointing and shouting “you are mafia!” at each other by the end, was just a treasure.

Has he considered growing said listeners on some trees?

I’m very keen for a journalist to ask him if it would be an issue for him to go to an area and see only people that look like his own party leader. If Kemi herself was amongst them, would he presume she’s not integrated as she’s not white?

The leader of the Tory party has proudly called for an “ICE-like” deportation squad to grab people off the street, and been met with minimal pushback in UK media so far. After watching videos from Illinois this weekend, it’s hard to swallow the dystopian mess we’re already in, James. Agonisingly sad

Maybe have each wild accusation be followed by a taxi driver ringing in and assuring the listeners that they’ve heard the accusation is true
September 30, 2025 at 6:02 PM
I think 2 hours would do. The end of each segment can be punctuated by an invitation from @mrjamesob.bsky.social to come on the show and dispute anything. The last hour can be full of the more wild assertions that can’t be explicitly proved. But, of course, James will just be “asking the question”

Despite the obvious logical chasm between the two positions.

It’s also exhausting to listen to hours of politicos opining that Starmer needs to stop aping reform, and start making a strong, moral case against Farage and his policies, only to spend entire interviews screeching “SO YOU’RE CALLING ALL THEIR VOTERS RACIST!?” once he does.

It’s already gone out to the mailing list, and I can confirm it’s absolutely brilliant ❤️

Very tangentially, on the subject of old R&L acts, I can see you enjoying either of the two albums just released by the former frontman of Carter USM, Jim Bob. He’s just released two albums, Stick and Automatic, and they’re brilliant. Lyrically, he’s just genius. Definitely worth a listen!

Messaged my family and partner to listen to her asap, absolutely certain she’d breakout in the UK. Probably the last good thing I got out of Twitter 😂

The whole performance is fantastic though, she’s a real star. Would love to go and see her live. (2/2)

As someone that still listens to a lot of bands that were performing at Reading in the 90s, went myself a bunch in the early 00s, and doesn’t really know many of the acts performing there now… Chappell Roan just has it. I saw a thread about her album on Twitter just after its release and (1/2)

It was completely egregious. Crossed a line way beyond regular journalistic interrogation and headline seeking, and strayed somewhere into actively winding up the current US president into saying something antagonistic to Starmer, purely in the hopes of embarrassing him. It was a very sad display.
