Most bizarre argument I saw on Twitter today award goes to “I really want Israel to stop bombing Gaza and I’m very progressive, but I also think it’s very important to call you an idiot if you think the US can help change Israel’s behavior by ending their support for it.”

If you are as you should be horrified by the US government’s actions, please remember that pledging unconditional support for Democrats gives them carte blanche to stomp on your principles, including by helping the Israeli government violate human rights and indiscriminately kill children.

Given the relative scale of atrocities in the region and US government policy, it is the responsibility of every informed person who cares about human rights to center the atrocities of the Israeli government and the suffering of Palestinians in their Israel/Palestine commentary.
