okay so you agree that people in urban and suburban areas should keep their cats inside

ah but you see i care less about what the cats want and more about the billions of birds.

I don't think the adopted here was necessary, not scolding just pointing out

that might be true, but the second part is certainly not. video games are much harder to make than people realize. it is not a matter of getting five people in a basement to produce a AAA level game unless you want them taking 7 years like the silksong people or it being shit. ca isn't even that bad

historians have vendetta against it not because people who know better promulgate the idea but because world war II is a pop culture staple with vast amounts of media outside of historiography that *does* portray it as the good war. they arent pushing back against academics, it's the History channel

its the dnd/pathfinder. path doesnt make money being a good competitor to dnd it makes money by appealing to people who like both because they are fans of the genre. genre fans usually spend more money and arent zero sum. they arent scared off by a bad release but they have dif tastes than die hards
November 30, 2025 at 4:24 PM
dont think this will help, people who play total war dont just play total war. the competition is all video games alongside all other media. the attention economy makes this old style of direct competition pointless for all but the most die hard fans who are such a small number they dont matter.

relatedly it's probably worth reminding people online that it is A-OK to simply not like someone - to find their personality and/or opinions grating - and not Do Theory about it

like all history of everything books, the dawn of everything also has many many problems.

i agree this is hellish and fits into an unfortunately large tradition of hyper misogyny whose endpoint is "heterosexual homosexuality" or whatever we call this concept. very popular in revolutionary fascist circles in the early 20th century. it being mainstream here is puzzling demographically
November 24, 2025 at 3:42 PM
this might sound dumb but how is reproduction carried out if they dont know how sex works and almost exclusively engage in homosexuality?
November 24, 2025 at 3:34 PM
it's more complicated than that, but they don't have the money to spend because China has just as much of a problem with "these lazy youth have it too good" syndrome and pay has been relatively stagnant there for a while. add that onto the work culture, stagnating population and toxic gender norms

before the storm by rick perlstein is a great story about a down and out political operative coming back for one last job, finding a problematic prodigy and watching it all fall apart and getting no credit for resurrecting a political party. collapse by vladislav zubok is also very gripping

okay, wouldn't the concentration of higher paying jobs and an inability to build units indicate that there was a housing crisis because people who want to live in cities are being prevented from doing that due to the cost? would this crisis not affect those outside of cities due to said jobs?
November 19, 2025 at 4:42 AM
if suburbs are superior to cities, why does the cost of square footage in urban areas far exceed that of suburban areas?
November 19, 2025 at 4:35 AM
they aren't impossible. they just aren't the percentage of the population that currently lives in suburbs. as I said in my post, if we improved the family friendly amenities, such as ease of access for groceries, More people would live in them. why does Urban square footage cost more than suburban?
November 19, 2025 at 4:33 AM
this is disingenuous to the point that it's actually pretty racist and indistinguishable from something Ben Shapiro might say.
November 19, 2025 at 4:25 AM
if they are more affordable, wouldn't that indicate that Urban cores are more desirable? or do you think urban areas are uniquely incapable of facilitating those amenities?
November 19, 2025 at 4:23 AM
man you are so close
November 19, 2025 at 3:44 AM
i understand it is lower than it should be but it still happens and is easier than successfully extracting reasonable concessions and an admission of fault from fortune 500 companies
November 19, 2025 at 3:22 AM
manslaughter is a crime, yes.
November 19, 2025 at 3:06 AM
it is easier to convict a lone normal person of a crime than it is to *win* a lawsuit against a large corporation by yourself
