Doing these short write ups is one of the only things keeping me on this site at this point.

19. Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening - The handheld Zelda games are a huge blind spot for me, and this is the main one. Amazed that this can run on original Gameboy hardware. Cutting the ALttP control scheme from 6 buttons to 2, makes it kinda tedious to switch items, but otherwise it plays great.

18. Spider-Man: Miles Morales - Like a bite sized version of the PS4 Spider-Man game. Miles plays different enough from original recipe Spider-Man that the gameplay feels distinct. Smaller scale means the set piece design feels a little lacking, but it’s still a cool 10-15 hours that go down easy.

Looks like a pretty standard entry level turntable. If you’re just looking for something that’ll play your records without damaging them, it’ll get the job done just fine.

17. Super Mario Land 2 - Needed a short chaser after sinking 40 hours into my last game. Big step up from the first Mario Land, but still a few steps behind SMB3 and World. This feels like the last time Mario was allowed to be unapologetically weird like this. Why does Mario live in a castle anyway?

16. Ghost of Tsushima - I’ve got one of these big AAA games in me per year. I get my 30 hours of enjoyment out of it and then rush to the end. Combat is fun enough, writing is above average, having forced stealth segments kinda sucks though. Will probably play something similar again next year.
