This again, another of Blair’s ideas resurrected.

It’s stupid, there isn’t a shortage of Jurors there’s a shortage of Judges.

We’ve got the same one, she’s called Rita.

I was thinking Highlander 2, which is a terrible film.

I can’t believe it’s taken the media this long to pick up on this, LedByDonkeys put the video about this 2 years ago.

Are they finally going grow a backbone on Farage?

If it were any other politician they’d have been fired for a lot less.

Ok for £1m I was expecting this to have been renovated but it looks like you’re acquiring nothing more than a huge structural problem and a legal nightmare.

I’d go further I think we need to question property prices, it’s a system that is going to break if we keep ignoring it.

There’s a substantive benefit at the end of what I don’t doubt is a very difficult process but that benefit is way beyond what the vast majority of people would ever see.

This is the result of treating homes as assets that appreciate far too much value imo

HMRC website says 10 years, I don’t know I’ve never had the benefit of inheritance at this level but it also states “grant on credit” to postpone payment until property is sold. I get it’s complicated but given the thresholds most people aren’t affected by inheritance tax.

There are time to pay options, probate is slow and needs sorting but I also think we have a fundamental problem in overvalued property that people think has been somehow earned because they happened to be born at right time in the right place.
November 24, 2025 at 12:51 PM
Oh probate is a nightmare, some of it though is down to the slow arduous pace at which some of these firms operate and the archaic methods of communication in some cases.
November 24, 2025 at 12:42 PM
Plan ahead? Isn’t that always the case, we often fail to plan for death when its so inevitable?

Nobody likes doing it but it can alleviate a lot of these issues.

Up to 10 years in annual instalments for assets that take time to sell.

The property could be sold well under market value for a quick sale.

A loan against the equity in short term could be made.

I’m not really up for excuses when someone is sitting on property of this level of unearned value.
