Great article, It's been hard to get a clear picture on whether we recovered all losses. To hear it's returned a surplus of over €5 billion is kind of mind blowing when you look back to the time of IMF bail out and Troika.

The commercial Forests are crops, they're not supposed to be wildlife reserves. If there wasn't commercial forests, the land owner would be raising cattle, or growing something else commercially. Is it fair to target these over barley or silage?

We're slowly beginning to realise that neutral doesn't mean you will not be a target. We need to invest in security, same as every other small European nation. We're not special.

The convenience of buying whatever you want via one online platform will likely win out over searching and buying across multiple. An Irish online platform, modeled on Shopify, would be a strong counter offering to consumers. Doesn't look like anyone is moving to capture that though.

I'm avoiding the States. It had already lost its shine for some time, with over priced cities and not so friendly locals, but this Trump era is the worst of US. Time to give Ballybunion a second look.

Ukraine was neutral when Crimea was invaded. Pierce is going with the "Head in the sand" approach to national defense. Ireland is a sitting duck and without any military alliance. An ideal county to make a point with if you wanted to antagonize the West.

World be more impactful to show the financially viable alternatives, in my opinion. What would it cost to build equivalent battery storage? We've excess wind energy at certain times of the day that's currently wasted. The UK/French interconnectors are not enough.
