The M20 website is really nicely done. Quite an exciting project. I travel the N20 weekly, this is a badly needed piece of infrastructure. Hope we can now get to the delivery stage. corklimerick.ie/june-2025-up...

We're slowly beginning to realise that neutral doesn't mean you will not be a target. We need to invest in security, same as every other small European nation. We're not special.

One off housing is the most inefficient way to deliver homes and services. We have plenty of towns and villages that, with the right investment, can deliver quality, medium density housing. Ambulances, fire brigade, telecoms, home support and social services are all spread thinly with one off houses

Is it 73% wind or all renewables? I don't see a breakdown from Eirgrid. I assume majority is wind, but surely hydro and solar are in there somewhere?

In Ireland, for comparison, we generated 60% of electricity from renewals in last 24 hours, thanks mostly to strong winds.

Wind Energy generated in Ireland over the last 30 days. I had expected a larger spike during Storm Éowyn, but maybe this is our max capacity?

UCC looking well last night, for the Candle light music event. The Munster String Quartet put on a great performance.

No snow in Cork this morning. I've yet to find a weather app that can predict Cork weather, even within 24 hours in advance. "Zoom Earth" predicts snow fall after 1:30pm. Let's see 🧐

Back on the Middleton to Youghal Greenway today. You can see the remains of a Navy Airship station near Killeagh. It was built in 1918/1919 to protect ships from submarines, although was never fully operational. #greenway #midleton #airships #ww1

Completed the Middleton to Youghal Greenway this morning, around 46km round trip. It was crowded at parts which is great to see. Nice coffee dock at Killeagh at roughly half way mark. ☕ 🚲 #greenway

Greens challenge is PR. Listening to lots of folk online and offline, including family members criticize the party for policies they have not introduced, they need to get in front of the narrative.

I contacted Cork County Council about Middleton to Youghal Greenway Phase 2. This was the response:

"The aim is still to open phase 2 of the Midleton Greenway before the end of the year but a date for the opening has not yet been confirmed. Keep an eye on our socials for further information."

Buildings with 100% social and affordable housing appear to be repeating mistakes of the past. Would like to see more mixed developments for hopefully more socially cohesive communities.
