I'm pretty sure this isn't Twitter, but let's hang out anyway. I've spent 20 years reporting on games and pop culture for Ars Technica, Penny Arcade, and Polygon. I've set the internet on fire a few times, in fact! Don't worry though, I'm nowhere near done

You don't have to argue with racist relatives, you can just chill out in a fairy village with your kids. It's an option. Don't let anyone tell you it isn't.

Season 3 of Homeland has the opposite of the Mission: Impossible problem.

Mission: Impossible is based on the idea people in the government will always doubt the best guy they have.

Homeland is the government saying "THIS time, though? These two will do GREAT together, let's risk it all!

If we've learned anything from corporate grifts & failures, it's that the boy who pointed out that the emperor was naked would've been hanged before anyone admitted any wrongdoing.

The emperor would slowly begin wearing clothes again, claiming the old clothes just werent the right market fit.

Bought the 4k Steelbook of Homeward Bound that finally includes the alternate ending where Chance, Sassy and Shadow come home to discover the family has purchased new pets. "You were gone for months, we thought you were dead, I had to move on!" the dad tearfully says to Sassy, who won't look at him

My thoughts on the parade have reversed completely now that I know the best character in all of pop culture has its own float

If you're referencing clock tower be sure to stretch in the mornings or your back will hurt by dinner time
i think scissorman in the clock tower video game is just what happens if you get a giant pair of scissors without the regulating power of mayorship, which helps you control and channel the powers of the giant scissors. even with this, many mayors still succumb to the corruption of the scissors

Holy shit, this is exactly what I need in my life.
Xenopurge by @traptics.bsky.social is now available on Steam.

"A tactical auto-battler where you are a Commander tasked with purging the Xenos threat. Operate from a remote command center, issuing indirect orders via multi-screen interfaces."

It's like Alien's motion tracker: the game.

Every episode of Pluribus convinces me of two things:

1) I do not know how long they can keep this going
2) This is one of the most emotionally riveting shows on TV

If Valve doesn't think I should play this I want to find out why IMMEDIATELY
Our upcoming game HORSES was preemptively banned from Steam, with no path to appeal. The game will still launch next week on December 2nd and will be available on EGS, GOG, Humble, and Itch for $4.99. Here is a detailed FAQ covering what happened: horses.wtf/BannedFromSt...

So you're telling me it's extra forbidden, decadent, and sexy? That should get people to stop, folks sure hate being sinful during their adult times, it doesn't add anything extra thrill at all.

Now tell me snacking is sinful, you dirty pope.

Holy shit, y'all. It's here. It's here. It's free. You can play it now. OMG OMG

$510, so not terrible, not great. My personal budgetary hope was somewhere around $400 so I'm in an OK mood about it. Just glad it wasn't like $1,400
I get to drop my car off tomorrow for some repairs and boy is that going to be stressful right before Christmas. You love waiting for the phone call with that total, it's the best. Always good news. I'm not freaking out at all.

God, I hate the worry. The situation is here. Ruminating helps NOTHING

I hope this isn't actually controversial, because what the hell. Do the work, list the work! Simple
My controversial take is that if you didn't get credited on a game you have proof you've worked on, just list it on your CV.

I do with one. Never had any issues.

Not being credited still sucks but you don't need to be polite when they're not.

If my car broke down in the snow and I had to figure out a way to get it from here to there as cheaply as possible while rapidly losing warmth my brain would calm down and love the challenge. I can do that.

Sitting and waiting for a total? Impossible. The worst. No thank you.

When I was very young, a few years into a being a teenager, I launched a mailing list where I would send every subscriber at least two poems a week. At its height I had 800 people on it. It made me realize this online thing could be a real way to reach people.

This was around 1997.
What’s the lore behind choosing your career path ?

Sektori friends: Is the only way to recharge your shield using a stack upgrade? There's no other way to do it? The three-hit limit is brutal but giving up an upgrade cycle for a recharge feels punitive.

It's very possible I'm being a baby about something designed to be a hard decision.

I did pick up a Switch 2 pretty quickly because the benefit was simple and immediate: "a way more powerful switch that will get all the new Nintendo exclusives" is something I will always pay for.

But new phones? I don't see a benefit. And I'm the target market. It's like everyone has given up.
The story about people holding electronics longer is interesting. My Steam Deck is years old and I still love it. I used a Pixel 8 and don't even know what the newer models have added and don't care. There's no reason to upgrade. No one is making anything different or cool.
