What is social media for if not for yelling all the time?
They only get to decide if we allow them to.

That was true back when were a nation of laws. This is tyranny now, the Supreme Court has declared the president can do whatever he wants and the current Congress is too chicken-shit scared to stand up to him.

like does everyone that isn't the girl realize they can cut their losses and just drop it? they don't have to keep talking about it. it's so incredibly bizarre.

and don't even get me started on how this should be embarrassing to OU for this girl submitting this as a JUNIOR. OU should be absolutely disavowing this paper and asserting that it does not live up to their academic standards.

Hey, crystals are cool! They have no health benefits, sure, but they're fun to look at.

"Creating projects that Tilly could star in" tacitly admits this is a completely useless technology that needs movies tailor made to it's use.

Unironically I heard a British person claim the sole reason for the American colonies was because the colonists wanted to keep slaves and the British wouldn't let them.

Giuffre also, conveniently for the administration, cannot contradict them. They could say Trump was helping her with her math homework, and she's too dead to say it wasn't true.

Not for nothing— for a promise to get to hold a vote on something Johnson said he won't hold a vote on in the house. So almost worse than nothing, because they have once again been played the fool.

Not "mostly." Mitch had the opportunity to deprive Trump the opportunity to run again after he had already lost and attempted a coup. He chose not to. We would be in a completely different place without McConnell.

Worse, the same type of people who will make excuses for this are the ones who freak out if federal employees get free coffee grounds in the office coffee machine because their tax dollars "shouldn't go towards personal benefits."

Not to argue there isn't a ton of malice in this act, but after paying enough attention to the people staffing this administration, I think they may simply be too stupid to visualize consequences.

Last time a far-right regime fell apart, it's perpetrators fled to Argentina.

I'm pretty sure it's an escape plan for Miller and his younger cohort.

IIRC this was the same offer they made for the *previous* CR, and they proceeded to vote as a unified block against every amendment the democrats proposed.

Seems they've already played their hand here, and there's no reason to trust them.

I mean, the rail workers strike was liable to crash the whole economy. They had actual power and got overridden by a corporatist government.

If the No Kings protest has as much power as the rail workers strike... things must be really bad internally in the GOP.

He's in a lose-lose situation, and apparently his strategy is trying to exacerbate the consequence so much that... I don't know, something else happens.

They seem to be under the impression that if they keep obstinantly making it clear they have no intention of negotiating and are almost solely responsible for all the pain the shutdown is causing, public opinion will magically flip to blaming democrats.

Honestly the funniest part about this is that she couldn't memorize her four bullet point attack plan.
October 8, 2025 at 7:22 AM
They seem under the impression that if they come out and make very clear they want to use the shutdown to cause as much pain to federal workers as possible... it'll cause people to blame the Democrats for the shutdown. It is unclear why they believe this.

Did they forget they already did that? 90% of the people left in the federal government are partisan hacks.
