the thing that gets me about the OU paper situation is that the paper is just embarrassingly bad. like it should not only be embarrassing to the girl to have written it but it should be embarrassing to conservative grifters that they're defending it.

Exceptionally funny to me that Mike Johnson is ultimately very minorly to blame for the whole shutdown, but his insistence on being a creepy little guy about it in the press seems liable to land him the entirety of the blame after this is over.

I know it's pretty small potatoes compared to everything else in this bill, but a reminder that, if you think you're going to get off relatively unscathed because you're not on government assistance, the BBB also decimates student loan forgiveness and repayment programs.

It's really good that the Democrats didn't remove the filibuster to pass meaningful legislation, otherwise the Republicans wouldn't have to come up with a single basic justification for overriding it in the budget bill. Truly this has saved the country from catastrophe.

I'm not expert in interpreting Catholic Doctrine, but it seems to me like God tried to speak through Francis to tell JD Vance he sucked, and then when that didn't work he took the old Pope and got a new one who is American for the purpose of telling JD Vance he sucked in his native tongue.
