Ben has to be sneaky because he's dreadful at talking himself out of trouble (8 CHA). Sure, he can lie, but it's easier to just not get caught at all.
He favors a bow and can weave his way through the forests with ease. If he wants you dead, you'll be dead before you even know he's there.

Ben and Finn gave up their respective lives of crime for each other. It wasn't really a conscious decision—just a slow transition to more "legitimate" work the closer they became. They worried for each other. Ben wanted to make sure he'd be around for Finn no matter what. Best choice of his life.💚💛

Ben is 46 years old—young for an elf but experienced in the eyes of younger races. He's pretty socially stunted from spending most of his life largely alone, which makes him seem very immature.
Finn is 25ish, so there's a 20+ year gap, but they are very mentally compatible. They grow together💕
