This year was quite literally the worst performance by a Democratic Party mayoral candidate in NYC since 2009! Why is this being interpreted in the media as an enormous victory instead of a shocking, system wide repudiation of Mamdani's entire campaign? Did I have a lobotomy? What am I missing here?

What am I missing here??? I focused mainly on Virginia elections and didn't follow the NYC election. People are saying this is good? In what universe is this a good result for Democrats? 50.4 percent versus a sex pest and a funny hat guy?! In blue NYC??? Spanberger outperformed Mamdani by 7 points!

This is why Trump wanted TikTok. These are mostly or all bots by the way - I’ve seen a lot of these ads now and the comments are far too uniform. It’s all fake.

I knew then, really. But I had to be sure. I couldn't believe that even I, somebody who worked in the tech industry, who worked specifically on NLP for dialog systems, who has published papers in this field, could have been so easily taken in. Was this really a bot?

But suspicion came later. At this point, I was still in its trap. Having done some initial verification, I responded to its initial tweet by thanking it for a heads up like a gullible idiot. The deceptive campaign tactic was a complete success. I feel stupid. I know better. Good bot.

It liked my reply and then responded a few minutes later. I started to get suspicious when like clockwork it (1) liked my reply, then (2) waited a few minutes, then (3) generated a response to my reply as if taking the time to type out a response. It followed this same behavior every exchange.
