This isn't just diplomacy, but rather a full-throttle bid for partnership. And honestly? The Gripen is sounding pretty damn appealing. No, it doesn't come with the F-35's Hollywood reputation. But it does come with something Canada desperately needs: sovereignty and stability. A platform we can maintain, build, and supply ourselves. Because while this story passes through the United States, it's actually a Canadian story. And it's about airplanes. Not just any airplanes, but our military jet fighters. So where do I start? For decades, Canada has been circling the same procurement debate like an aircraft in a holding pattern. First the Harper Conservatives committed to the F-35. Then the Trudeau Liberals backed off, re-evaluated, circled back, endorsed it, and ordered jets. And now the Carney Liberal government is taking a deep breath and asking the question a lot of Canadians are quietly asking: did we get this right? I'm not ready to answer that yet. But here's where I come from a very different place. Trying to explain this without sounding dramatic is impossible, so I won't try. The first time I ever saw an F-35 do a dirty flyby, I got chills. Occupy Canada Pierre Poilievre likes to focus on provincial and local failures and blame it on the federal government. In most cases those provinces have Conservative Premiers. He relies on the ignorance of his base. Healthcare is controlled by the Premiers, as are schools. The federal government does not issue construction permits, fix roads, pick up garbage etc. Doug Ford is cutting thousands of hospital beds in Ontario. Yet time and time again I hear Poilievre followers cite the healthcare system as one of their reasons why "Canada is broken". Whether you agree with it or not, Doug Ford overpaid $75M to run ads that sunk trade negoations with the U.S. This was a Conservative blunder, yet Poilievre blames the federal government. He is disingenuous, and deliberately misleading Canadians.

I’m an open book!😜 Know how hard it is (&expensive) to get good MCAS immunologist. Gave my protocol last night, so just screen capped it &added as pics, easier on space &energy.😝 Took a lot of trial &error, &patience. U may need to tweak it to suit yourself better.💛
Ziggy @bendyziggy.bsky.social Went thru this too (MCAS, but before COVID). Got to 86lbs &3 safe foods before finding MCAS immunologist. Multi-pronged approach to treatment. Took GI dr, dermatologist (patch test &s Kim biopsies) & immunologist. I Stopped eating & did elimination diet *AFTER* some time on the meds. Rx Rifaximin course, month of 150mg Zantac 2x/day, 20mg Reactin 2x/day, tecta 40mg 2x/day, cromylyn 2 caps 4x (20 mins before each meal &bedtime), ketotifen, Quercetin, Montelukast Ziggy @bendyziggy.bsky.social Some of those meds are hella pricey, but some manufacturers have compassion programs. Less $ than immunologicals tho. Stayed on meds 6mos+ while doing elimination diet. Did 2nd round Rifaximin at 4 mos. Now I just need Zantac, Reactin, Vit D, Tecta, unless in a flare, then go back to full regiment again. Can eat so many more foods now, even *some* fruits &veggies! Best wishes Ziggy @bendyziggy.bsky.social Recommend getting PATCH test too -not typical scratch test. They tape discs to your back for 5days. Found allergies never knew I had, in EVERYTHING (like prop glycol, carmine, annato). Really helped to eliminate those. Scratch tests were -ve. Also, using HEPARIN levels not tryptase. Better, more accurate &specific MCAS test. Ziggy @bendyziggy.bsky.social Oh! One more thing. Finally had biopsies stained for Mast cells (by scope). Proved proliferation of mast cells in esophagus/Gl-diagnosed w EoE. GI specific Steroids (Entocort, Jorveza) have *finally* broken last barrier to eating almost normally. Something to consider if can't get MCAS under control.

This is just the latest sign that Donald Trump's inexplicable and reckless economic policies are driving a once healthy economy off a cliff. Who could possibly have predicted that implementing 18th century tariff policies, starting a trade war with the entire world and firing hundreds of thousands of federal workers would have an adverse effect on the economy? Oh, wait, EVERYBODY. Voters punished Democrats because Joe Biden's successful plan to combat post-pandemic inflation didn't kick in fast enough. They were rewarded with even higher grocery store prices - since 2020, the price of groceries has gone up by nearly 30% — more inflation, mass layoffs, and our nation being turned into the laughing stock of the world. Donald Trump should be publicly apologizing to President Biden for ruining what was once the strongest economy in the world. Now we have to wait for another Democratic President to come along and clean up the mess of an idiot Republican for the FOURTH TIME in three decades.

Rachel Notley I'm a geek - a democracy geek - so much so that I got kicked out of the legislature back in November 2019 in protest, when Jason Kenney fired the guy investigating...Jason Kenney (for breaches of the Elections Act). So that's why I'm similarly frustrated by the UCP decision to fire the Auditor General investigating the corruption allegations made against the Premier and her cabinet and to deny funding for the Chief Electoral Officer tasked with administering recall petitions against UCP MLAs. For the non-geeks among you, this is as if the government passed a law, and then when one of them is accused of breaking it, they defund the police and fire the judge. This is just not how democratic governments work. Albertans of all political stripes deserve better.
