I spoke to the trans woman who was assaulted at Barton Springs in Austin this weekend.

Despite everything, she said that the bystander who stepped in and the support she's gotten makes her believe Austin is "a safe space for people like me."

I'm genuinely worried about what this means for the future of the Gaelic Athletic Association in the US. The old diaspora hubs on the coast will be fine with homegrown talent, but so many clubs rely on Irish-born J1s and mid-term expats to keep their teams afloat and competitive.
Tucked away in the 'One Big Beautiful Bill' is the requirement that all visitors to the US must pay $250 just to enter the country starting 1 October! For a family of 5 that's $1250! I doubt this will help America's crashing tourism business which is down 10% already since January

I've been making my way through "If I Must Die" and it's such a tragic read. Refaat beautifully depicts Palestinian resilience, and every time you finish an excerpt on a hopeful swell you remember that Israel killed him.

It's a moot point now that Ard Chomhairle adopted all seven of the FRC's proposed rules, but here are my reservations about their implementation in the GAA abroad www.irishecho.com/2024/10/some...

I gathered a few resources you can use & take action with to demand a ceasefire in Gaza. From a script you can use when calling Congress & a tool to email your Rep., to a protest locator & more.

Had a very successful weekend with the Celtic Cowboys at the USGAA Nationals in Denver - first time in club history winning both the football and the hurling!
