It’s been 50 years since The Android Invasion (not that I was around back then so I can’t reminisce). Here I am pretending to be Tom Baker at East Hagbourne back in April whilst wearing a franchise inappropriate T-shirt.

Rewatching The Sontaran Experiment tonight for some Devon comforts. I visited Hound Tor myself back in July and took some photos. Styre had clearly popped out for the day and was nowhere to be seen.

Accommodation contract issues means that in the month of December I would be homeless on the streets of Sydney for three weeks between flats. My hand has been forced to fly home for Christmas (yay!). My carbon footprint is gonna be larger than that of Taylor Swift.

On season 2 of my The Next Generation journey and the bangers are starting to come more and more consecutively. The Measure of a Man is truly one of the greats.

To the disgrace of my cinephile self, I’ve never seen Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining. I made a vow recently to always try and read a King book before watching the adaptation (already broken with The Long Walk) so, having started the book yesterday, I’ve now begun my journey to the Overlook Hotel.

Rewatching Arc of Infinity today. I love Borusa’s disbelief at the thought of a traitor on the Gallifreyan High Council knowing full well that when he gets home he’ll be reworking his diary to push back his Death Zone plans.

Very sad to hear we've lost Christopher H Bidmead. Always struck me as a very genial chap who took his work seriously but not himself. Hard to over-express my admiration for Frontios, and the ideas in Logopolis and Castrovalva, where mathematics is treated as where philosophy and poetry meet.

The novelty of seeing exotic birds as part of daily life in Australia is something I thought would never quite wear off whilst I’m here. But the shrieking noises the flocks of cockatoos make every night at 1am has me down to my last nerve.

Finished reading ‘Salem’s Lot for the first time today. Excellent, what a classic. Time to watch the 1979 miniseries and see how it fairs - I’m told it’s very good. I really should read Dracula now, ashamed that I’ve not got around to it yet.

The shopping centre near me closes a new escalator everyday without fail. The supermarkets are on the top floor. Getting myself up there and subsequently leaving the building with a litre of milk is an experience I imagine can only be comparable to that of navigating Castrovalva.

Watching The Next Generation for the first time to procrastinate work and wait out the rain. Yikes, the show had a rocky start. Not many highlights so far, convinced that if it wasn’t attached to the Star Trek brand then it wouldn’t have been renewed beyond the first season.

I’m very sorry to the people of New South Wales, I have just come from Cardiff (officially the UK’s wettest city) and I’ve clearly brought the weather with me. I can only apologise to everyone as this is entirely my fault.

I really do not like The Stones of Blood. Not for me at all - a big clash of ideas that relies very heavily on the superb performance of Beatrix Lehmann. Professor Rumford is one of those characters that would, nowadays, become a recurring character

I will not stand for Stones of Blood slander Daniel 😤
