Do note this footage has a couple bugs regarding the time gauges when a battle starts. Also, enemies don't have behaviors yet, a lot of the graphics are placeholders, etc.

Whenever a character takes a step, their Time Gauge lowers by a certain amount, and their turn ends when the bar empties out. You need to pick an action before that happens!

To run away from battle, simply walk attempt to walk out of the battle arena until it works.

Battles start when an enemy touches the party leader. The map has predetermined battle regions, and all enemies within that region will become your opponents. Characters become active when their Time Gauge fills up, and the player is able to switch between active characters.

It's a rather unique battle system that uses positioning but has a real time component. Even though I've explained it before and posted mockups it seems people still have a hard time visualizing it, so hopefully when there's real footage of it it'll click

1. uses icons for buttons, which can be called in text to display the correct icon
2. lets you change input device
3. script calls for checking if the button was pressed/held
4. supports a bunch of special keys you'd find in non-US keyboards

If by custom binding you can add a custom function that can be called aside from the default MZ ones, yes

I don't understand why it would conflict with other plugins, since it overwrites the default input system

But perhaps even more importantly than that, @qwarq.io has begun work on setting up the battle system for the game. The grid is supposed to be semitransparent, that's on me. I already sent him the fixed version.
