Sad tomato; three miles of bad road; real woman child
I *made out* w/a trans woman once who said “your skin is so soft - it’s like a trans girl’s dream,” which I took to mean she knew. But then a mutual friend was talking to her about passport stuff. He said “Yeah, June had trouble w/that,” & she was like “but why did June need to update her passport?”

My former dentist (he passed in 2020 and his son took over the practice) was the Maple Leafs’ team dentist for years. He had *stories.*

I’ll stick with 5 awkward social encounters, followed by a 6th awkward social encounter where I say “so we’ve never really worked out any kind of connection, but that’s super overwhelming for me, so anything we do together is going to have to follow some very specific negotiation, thank you.

So on one hand, that’s amazing.

But the prospect of *me* ever handing one of those to another person gives me chest pains, ha

Oh wow that was a thing?

That could be helpful, but the flirting party isn’t at fault in my case. It’s my brain refusing to receive good things because IT’S ALWAYS A TRAP, probably.

I hate feeling pressured to come out like that. I hate when other people in my life shoehorn my history & identity into small talk.

Yeah, my kids are great. No, I shouldn’t need to be out myself to explain how.

Also “well adjusted despite having a trans mom” isn’t a compliment. To me or my kids.

🤷‍♀️ Oh, well, I came out to them when they were in elementary school, and they were wonderful about it.

🧛🏻‍♀️ What do you mean ‘came out?’

🤷‍♀️ (Long sigh). Yeah, so…I’m trans.

🧛🏻‍♀️Wait. You were…assigned…male? At birth? No way! I had no idea.

It’s pretty obvious that Christianity is easy to use as a driver of bigotry. If we can’t be honest about that, we probably can’t do much about it.

Denying that hateful Christians are “real” Christians doesn’t reduce their visibility, influence, or relevance. It just ignores history, avoids accountability, and makes it harder to confront harm done in the name of the faith — while gaslighting survivors of spiritual abuse in the process.
