I'm sure I've got a user icon round here somewhere
And it's notable that she has a different livery since the photos I took two years ago, but that's common for these display planes. Another example of that is their B-17 seen here

This is the one that normally lives at RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire, which is where I saw her last time

I've now been over during opening hours (who gets up this early in winter?), and one of the curators was under the impression she'll be undergoing her rebuild for a year and a half

The second Lancaster at Duxford - this is the actual flying one, in a different hanger, one not owned by the IWM. She's here for full maintenance for the next 18(?) months. They'll strip her down and rebuild her ready for the next decade. So don't expect her to be on the BBMF for a while

The Duxford Air Museum owns a Lancaster

What happens when the RAF says they want the plane back when you've been carefully looking after it for over two decades

I can't believe I haven't seen Laszlo yet

If you see this, post a picture of a vampire who isn't Dracula

A rather fine present from #Bristolcon. It's a model of the Andy Bigwood Speedbird in its landing dock

Now we have to get it home

A not terribly crowded train this Friday lunchtime, on the way from London to Bristol

The thing that gets me most is that they've not got a decent model for the Spitfire. What they use has two seats and a fixed undercarriage!

To be fair, that's the Peerage and Baronetage

Hmm, that's a decent scoring card in Sky Cards

Crossing the Atlantic in a ship this small would terrify me

We went to Tokyo recently. How could we resist ...

There are meals when the only kitchen knife I use is my souvenir from Alaska

A fine shellfish dinner on a Baltic ferry - possibly the Gabriella - back in 2017.

It's a little small I'm afraid, too small to hug, and a little out of reach up on a high window sill, but one stone lion now handled

Proof of my assertion? This second picture from the other front quarter

Up at Duxford yesterday afternoon. No, this B-17 is not the famous Memphis Belle

This picture was taken around then

Having an early supper with @diane.dianeduane.com - there's a jackdaw perched on the beam above our table

The food here in Åland is pretty good
