It's really lovely to see "Sea of Fertility" (in @clarkesworldmagazine.com #227) receiving such an insightful and warm recommendation from A.C. Wise on @locusmag.bsky.social !
“The search for connection... infuses Han’s novelette, which also considers the meaning of authenticity, the value of art, and how people understand themselves and each other. "
Thank you for capturing the heart of "Sea of Fertility"!

QUEST Issue No.1 is bold and fun.
“Natural Relations” by James Vinson has some “Vaster than Empires” vibe but ends up wilder. “Gift of Risk” by Earl Livings echoes the Arabian Nights.
And of course I enjoyed my “Vita Nova,” presented with Alexa Velasquez’s stunning arts. read.quest/content/vita...

I translate my own work into English, so I know this all too well. Even in the final minutes of editing, Neil and I would still catch misunderstandings that stemmed from cultural differences—something AI could hardly detect.
Good literary translation requires understanding (language, culture, genre--on both sides of the translation) and an ability to write well. "AI" can't do that. There are no shortcuts. Treat your work and foreign language readers with the respect they deserve. You won't fool anyone with this.

Did she really negotiate with God? No. She merely ran through thousands of universes and finally landed in the most beautiful one.
Defying destiny a thousand times, she became a red-haired angel herself.

I love these lines from this story: “Here, the sky was new, and the earth still veiled in mist. They roamed the wilderness with their little lights, leaving footprints, seeking one another, and creating new worlds.”
