My hope remains that China's upcoming Nationally Determined Contributions and targets in the 15th Five-Year Plan will demonstrate the government's determination to follow through on its climate targets

For this development to continue, clear government guidance on the green transition from the top is indispensable. This year, China will set out its targets for the coming decade and with that determine whether or not international climate goals will be feasible
