7 Winter Olympics as figure skating commentator, 3 as a coach, former local newspaper publisher (yes, I was a journo), always a Mum, love the beach. Central Coast NSW Australia.
Into history, news, sometimes politics
Shout out to Mrazkova/Mrazek for nailing AC/DC.
The Young brothers who formed ACDC literally lived around the corner when I was a teenager.
Again, the CZE team nailed the raw, thumping adrenalin that is Acca Dacca.

Thrilling to see where the Olympics began in Greece, walk the track and soak in the history.

Really looking forward to Milano 2026 and an exciting Olympics. Not long to go now. Research has been in swing for a while now.

Wrote about this for The Guardian 3 years ago... "What we need is an independent, non-political commissioner to oversee management of our coast"
This is URGENT, Premier Minns!

As Australia battles wild weather and coastal erosion, we should learn from our mistakes | Wendy Harmer
Not only is it arguably the ugliest edifice built on the coast, Collaroy’s seawall may protect private property in the short-term, but it will destroy the beach

There should be a moratorium on any new seawalls or coastal fortifications in NSW.
Instead of our ad hoc approach.
It's all about sand nourishment!
Other states are embracing the science - cost effective and saving beaches too!!

‘We grabbed the cat and got out’: The waterside dwellers facing rising sea levels
Living beside the beach is the ultimate Australian dream. But for some, rising tides and coastal erosion are turning it into a nightmare.

Good grief. Now the conservative Coalition parties “Liberals” (not liberal) and “Nationals” (not national) have put their split of two days ago on hold.
Immature is the kindest word I have.
Idiots is more on point.

My take on the AUS Liberal/National Coalition split. Both are centre right and some MPs further right wing.
Nats prioritise rural, Libs don’t (unless it’s fossil fuel/water/minerals to be sold.
Women, climate, the vulnerable don’t seem to matter much to either party.

I’ve slowed down hugely on clicking on any Trump stories. Absolutely over him dominating news cycles. It’s boring and he backflips on most things.
He is fast becoming yesterday.

According to SMH report - Rinehart says, "Coalition needs to embrace Trump-style policies."

Nah. We had our say on that style two days ago.

Gina is perfectly positioned to dig a few more holes.

Not a hole I will be hopping in to.

The media blackout for the federal election (in Australia) can’t come soon enough.
Won’t have to delete political text messages to my phone that you can’t block.

I’m so over all of them.

The choice to block these texts should be legislated.

First time I've put a poster on my fence.
A year ago my federal MP Emma McBride's office went above & beyond to secure a passport for my newly born granddaughter to get from Hong Kong to her Auntie's wedding in Sydney.
We were all very grateful for her assistance.

Avoca Beach Theatre attracts amazing artists. Tonight we saw the incredible James Morrison and his band with Mat Jodrell. Jazz at its best. Woohoo.

Really, truly.. the @nigella.bsky.social recipe for Asian/Anglo Lamb Salad is a stand out. Deliciousness, easily achievable and Nigella said serves 2-4. Two people here demolished it.
Recipe following.

Penguins rule this week, especially the ones governed by @heardislandgov.bsky.social in the Antarctic,
which is far preferable to the amoeba living in another white place - far far away.

Did I see a 73% tariff by USA on Norfolk Island?
How much does the Australian island export to USA annually? Less than $700,000 p.a.

Ludicrous

21.53 points for Shaidorov's 3A/4S

19.05 for Malinin's 4S/3A.

Things will get interesting next season, especially if Shaidorov adds 4A.

Jason wins Artistic score.
