Step back in time to Belfast’s High Street! 🎨 Artist J.W. Carey titled this painting 'High Street in the 18th Century,' the costumes reveal a 17th-century vibe 🕰️ It features the old Parish Church of Belfast, seen on a 1685 map. The church stood until 1774 when it was replaced by St George's in 1816

Chichester Quay built in 1769 by Thomas Greg, was named after George Augustus Chichester, High Street, once called Front Street, ran along the Farset River (fully covered by 1848) and was Belfast’s main marketplace before Smithfield Market opened in 1780 except the linen market, were held here

Ormeau House stood proudly by the River Lagan, south of Belfast. Built in 1807 and expanded in the 1820s, this Tudor Revival mansion stood in lush 180-acre grounds. Financial woes led to its sale in 1869, and demolition, with its transformation into Ormeau Park—Belfast’s first public park in 1871.🌳

🚂 Throwback to Belfast's York Road Railway Station!
Opened in 1848, it was a bustling hub connecting Belfast to Ballymena, Derry, and Larne. Known for its stunning architecture, the station was transformed in the 1890s with a clock tower and tramway canopy.
