Ug. This should not still be a thing 😡

I was called that, Dolly Parton, & various other very screwed up things through my freshman year of high school in 1989 & I’m still salty about it. It informed some of how I parented, which I guess was ultimately a positive outcome, but still.

stores & on Amazon. Personally, I’m not a fan of the texture or how super nut flavored they are, but they do require less chewing.

have someone who has one, if you’re comfortable pop me a DM with your address & I’ll happily ship you a box!

*they aren’t actually chewy, that would be an issue for me b/c chewing can be exhausting - it’s more like they aren’t crumbly.

Larabars also fit the bill, & are available at most grocery

The Kirkland brand chewy* protein bars are my go-tos. I wouldn’t say they’re exactly healthy, but they do have 10g of protein & 16g of carbs so they’re very helpful w/my hypoglycemia issues, too.
They also seem to be vegan from looking at the ingredients.

I love that you’re getting to enjoy the sound of the rain & through it all there is hope.

Sending hugs & good vibes

Thank you 😊 💜

I get hesitant to talk about the support I have b/c I know it’s not the norm (which is so f’ed up!), but I also wanna be honestly me on here. Talking about it is a way to show my gratitude & how conflicted I can feel, ‘cause even w/a lot of support it can be complicated.

No worries at all, I didn’t take it as judgy even a little bit. I’m just also thinking through fog that’s nearly gelatinous & figured I’d totally missed my point in my post & was afraid I’d come off as judgy.

Brainfog fist bump!

Oh! I’m not implying my kids weren’t regularly building forts using the table & chairs or didn’t use it as a stage way more than could’ve possibly been safe - I’m just impressed that low end IKEA furniture has survived so much & for so long!

As a person w/CPTSD & me/cfs, if the basics don’t work I often find sensory input can. Taking a comfortably hot bath or picking up & taking a long sip of a cold drink both while focusing on the temp & sensation. Gentle limb massage by another person can also help.
Hope you’re feeling better!

Ikea furniture & dishes got us through most of our kids’ childhoods. We bought our last Ikea dining table & chairs in ~2012. It went w/one of our kids when they moved out, it’s since gone on to belong to their friend/ex-roommate & is still in good shape!

I’m just sorry it took me so long!
Crashes & brain fog, you know the drill.

I was showing my amazing nonbinary eldest kid (who’s visiting for a few days) your feed & saw this post & 🤦’ed when I realized I hadn’t shared it!
