When I was looking a couple of months ago, many of the onsite jobs were AI-related in San Fran. But there were still a lot of remote jobs.

I’ve learned it’s about the people around you, growing your community, and finding your people, the ones you text when you’re going through a hard time, the ones you share your good news, who celebrate with you. Here’s to the next decade, and the amazing friends who stick with me along the way.

I’ve given my 1st tech talk, took the stage for pub conf, MC-ed conferences, organized a virtual conference, written screenplays and pilots, published my 1st novel w/ my brothers, started a micro fiction newsletter, saw my kids hit more milestones than I could’ve imagined, made friends as an adult.

I’ve seen my kids go through more pain and heartbreak than I ever thought I would, and felt the heartbreak even more deeply as a parent.

I’ve had doctors tell me I’m not their problem, women tell me that no one would believe in me if I developed a free community, a man tell me I didn’t know how to squat bc I could do more than him. I’ve navigated layoffs, career uncertainty, and become a spokesperson opposing a local landfill.

I had my last kid (total to 4), moved from teaching college English to working in tech, navigated a pandemic and built an online community (Virtual Coffee). Done things I never thought I’d physically accomplish, deadlifted > 250 lbs, squatted ~2x my body weight, lifted > half my weight over my head.

I was just talking to a company about this! I was encouraging good “mid-level” tutorials and content.
