I’ve lived here for 40 years. I walk a lot. You arrived at the beginning of a record period of dry sunny weather. Very unusual! People are giddy & feel better because it’s not dim, dark, & drizzling all the time which is common in winter. But it’s very beautiful here.

Haven’t seen it yet but was struck by the main character’s name, Laszlo Toth, which is also the name of a hilarious Don Novello (Father Guido Sarducci) prank character.

Having taken Shinkansen in April between Tokyo & Kyoto it’s shameful we don’t have this here and likely won’t during my lifetime. Same distance as Seattle to Eugene in 2 hours 10 minutes. One of several lines that run frequently & on time.
