Oooo good choice! I love an obscure little bug.
"Woolly" aphids aren't actually covered in wool, but wax. Like most aphids, they live/feed on specific plant stems, but uniquely they have a *pair* of specific plants that they can feed on, and which plant they choose alternates between generations.

Did you know that whales are so saturated with oil to maintain both buoyancy and insultation that their skeletons, even those that have been cleaned, preserved and left hanging in museums for 50+ years, can still occasionally ooze oil, leading to temporary discoloration (brown areas) on the bones!

Slow worms (Anguis fragilis), a legless lizard found across Europe, have tongues shaped like a spanner instead of the more typical forked tongue one might expect from a "snake". They use the stockier tongue as a spoon to scoop up bugs and worms to eat and water to drink.

Axolotls (Ambystoma mexicanum) are basically permanent babies, but did you know they can develop into a "real" adult? They can lose their gills, go through metamorphosis and live on land! Sadly, the transformation is often a last-ditch survival attempt and is therefore a sign of significant neglect

Did you know that the argonaut octopuses (Argonauta sp.) create a papery shell to live inside during mating season? Only the females make these shells and they carry both their eggs and occasionally their tiny mates, who are less than 2cm long, around inside it!

Did you know that male leopard seals (Hydrurga leptonyx) are not only smaller than the females, which is very unusual for aquatic mammals, but that they actually "sing" via melodic whale-song-like howls to try and attract a mate?

An anemone is actually a type of flower which sea anemones are named after due to their resemblence to a fleshy undersea "flower", so land anemones ARE a thing!

Every so often I remember that I technically have a "fursona" except as a zoologist I simply wasn't able to reconcile human behaviour with terrestrial animal biology... So I invented a sapient quadrupedal alien amphibian the size of a bear to represent me amongst my friends and he looks like this

This is like one of those old paintings of livestock where the poropstions were exaggerated to make them look fatter (and therefore more valuable) but you're fr just Built Like That huh
