It finally happened. I am attending AGU24 today! I, a geotechnical engineer, get to learn the mysterious ways of my geology and earth science colleagues.

It was awesome participating in this season of Geo-Institute's Director's Cut. I am always excited to talk about glauconite research and my beard care routine. Brad is a great host.

It is exciting to have our research covered by a local news organization. Check out the New Bedford Light's article on glauconite soils and offshore wind.
Glauconite: A tricky, sticky mineral that’s challenging offshore wind developers on the East Coast...
The geotechnical properties of glauconite make it an “extremely difficult material to build upon,” said U.S. Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, the lead regulator of offshore wind, last month.

I’m here! I know I haven’t updated anywhere in a while, but I was recently awarded a $275,000 sub award on an EPA CPRG planning grant, so expect to hear me go on about that for the foreseeable future. 😄🙃

It was interesting seeing all the buildings named after famous researchers at Imperial College: Skempton, Huxley, Flemming... It was especially nice to see one of them named after a geotechnical engineer!

I had a great time catching up with everyone at the Offshore Site Investigation and Geotechnical Conference. It was also wonderful to see all the work related to offshore wind! #Geotech
