Paging @rosemarymosco.com my own pigeon pictures are a bit lacking.

I did pick up this poor ill guy on a hike. He was a racer, but sadly really sick. 😭

This obit, pre-written by Sharon Begley before she passed...made me miss her amazing work. This is how you do it.

Finally here is Luke, he's a lavender and is ALSO winterized on the porch. Luke asked to be a ballerina.

Advice welcome on Luke, I tried repotting, more sun, sandier soil...currently I'm trying light neglect because my other herbs love that.

Thea is a thyme. She is currently set to overwinter on the porch and on the advice of the former principal is a ladybug!

Rosemary is the member of the school who lives outside. On the advice of her former school principal she is a black cat. Here you can see her ears and tail.

(It is unexpectedly extremely difficult to costume a plant)

Leo is a meyer lemon (also winterized), and of course his name is LEO so he was going to be a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle for Halloween. We added a blue belt and now he is Leonardo!

I have received advice from The Child and today I present: The Grow Where You Are Planted Academy Halloween Parade.

Here we have Leona, a key lime recently winterized. She is working on her first lime (not pictured). Leona has been working so hard she wanted to be a construction worker.

Happy Plant-O-Ween!

Back in spring, I received guardianship of a Plant School: The Grow Where You Are Planted Academy. I received DETAILED instructions for my students.

(A family moved, had to leave plants. This child loves the plants. I will move heaven and earth for this child).

SAME. And I do mine! This is our current, still not enough space, there's an annex.

I have been traveling and today I present to you...the thing I saw in the Frankfurt airport.

Is it efficient? Undeniably. Does it probably work better than the normal way? Oh certainly. Produce less of a mess? Probably?

But the existence of Condiment Udders gives me a deep, aghast disquiet.

Stay tuned for mousedates. Eliza says no sleep 'til Brooklyn she is ON THE CASE.

One of my neighbors a few blocks down has an "appeal to heaven" flag and I'm not saying that's where I'll release it but...

Anyway now we have live traps, baited with the Most Delectable of Treats: Creamy peanut butter.

I did consider snap traps (most effective), but it's the right time of year for mice to come in...not for mice to RESIDE.

So if I boot it a good ways away maybe it'll try my neighbor 😈

LOL pursuant to this I saw a post asking for the last image of your cat.

Last night's roll call (apologies for my WORST cat voice)

Let it be known that @karenho.bsky.social does not steer you wrong with the Asian snacks. These were indeed curiously addictive.

I'll admit I'm not SUPER clear on like, moving them for recess, especially of course my yard in no way maps on to this seating chart.

Also, the school has a NAME.

I am now the proud Principal of the Growing Where You Are Planted Academy!

I may not change the name.
June 9, 2025 at 9:06 PM
As per instructions, I have kept friends together. Luke is around the corner from Thea, and Leo and Leona are next to each other (and Luke). Rosemary is making new friends.

But as this is a Plant School, there is a seating chart.

Note the recess area! The plants do need recess every day.
June 9, 2025 at 9:02 PM
Last but not least we have key lime Leona. She's a hydration queen who likes rain, which is actually in keeping with required lime care! She needs to stay with Leo, her twin brother.

They're fraternal twins.

Obviously.
June 9, 2025 at 9:00 PM
Next up is Leo, a meyer lemon (squee!). He's a simple soul, and has a FLOWER which smells so good and TINY LEMONS!

You will note on these pages references to the "sick spot," there is a map included with recess area and "sick spot" where the plants should go if they are ill for quarantine.
June 9, 2025 at 8:56 PM
Then we have Rosemary who is...um...a Rosemary. She's 11 months and has a very understandable fear of tree branches. It's vital that Rosemary have new friends if Thea goes to the Compost In the Sky, so here she is in the ground, and she's next to her new buddy, Marianne. Also a rosemary.
