When I was 13, "I am Mary Tudor" by Hilda Lewis ignited my love of European history. I don't know if I'd enjoy reading it today, but it left enough of an impact back then that I remember the title and author umpteen years later.

[June 28th, 1985] Lynd Ward, 80, a Caldecott Medal-winning illustrator and author, died of Alzheimer’s in Reston, Virginia, leaving a legacy in printmaking and social activism. He was 80. He crafted wordless novels and illustrated 13 Limited Editions Club books.
