I'm famous so I'm keeping this anonymous for now. just kidding—everyone's famous in small town social media, aren't they? Wearied activist. Also wary, but I meant weary.

My 2025 goals: 1) Join bsky. 2) Read more. Halfway there!
Dontcha love these "one roll is two" & even "1 roll = 4 rolls" marketing ploys...

Hey toilet paper/logging companies! Check out the new special mega dollar, it equals 4 regular dollars so we pay a fourth of your price mkay?

In line at a grocery store in David Gomberg's district, this story caught my eye & made me buy the Sunday paper. If a woman hadn't been ahead of me trying to get help figuring out the labyrinthine bus schedule I'd have missed it

More disappointment from the "I’d rather tax bicycle tires" #ORleg rep

AI even admits it, though all I did was Google it. So one could say, googling is the problem. Or is it our insatiable thirst for answers about what will happen with our kicker credits...

According to the CDC, 32 people are killed every day in the U.S. by alcohol-impaired drivers. That's one death every 45 minutes

Now including the House Speaker's chief of staff, "about 1 million arrests are made in the United States each year for driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs"

Agreed. Wish I knew of more studies on low-tech safety, too (maybe @trecpdx.bsky.social has), like effectiveness of high-viz alone to share w/ this CERT group. Their initiative ignores infra, speed, distraction, & what to do about people being hurt in daylight, even in crosswalks, like this incident

One Oregon CERT chapter (FEMA's Community Emergency Response Team program) may start pressuring people who walk & bike to wear hi-viz.

CERT's public fb page says members may approach you walking & "offer you a vest." This comes without advocacy for driver eye exams & behavior, or #VisionZero policy
