There are republicans who are uneasy about certain cabinet nominees but don’t want to say anything in public. If you live in a red state, they might respond to pressure from constituents (eg, “Vought would shut down meals on wheels programs that rural communities rely on”)
They made the point that a federal funding freeze is NOT a partisan issue. It affects everyone, regardless of political leanings. And GOP lawmakers know that Project 2025 is deeply unpopular. Put pressure on them to distance themselves from it and its creator.

@USAID is enduring an unlawful shutdown, purge, and dismantling.

It’s thrown its vital work into turmoil—based on spurious, absurd, and willfully slanted attacks.

Here's what’s real: the massive and growing harm now being caused.

Around two-thirds of Denmark's electricity generation comes from solar and wind.

It's mostly wind, but solar has grown quickly in the last three years.

When I was born, coal made up almost 90% of the mix. This is now less than 10%.

There are many ways in which the potential marriage of the goals tackling climate change and restoring biodiversity is a good thing. But also real dangers of an abusive relationship if biodiversity is subordinated to an overpowering drive for carbon sequestration and biofuels.
The climate and biodiversity crises are entwined, but we risk pitting one against the other
In our race to cool the planet, we must not compromise the ecosystems on which we depend.
