Happy birthday!

I want to try the pomegranate hibiscus green tea from Brooklyn Tea and the mint verbena from Sweet Birch Herbals! So many of them sound delightful, though.

I've been trying to remember one particular tea I had (iced) at your house at book club. It was red, I believe rooibos, and delicious.

While today’s decision was not life and death, it was certainly life altering. I’m tired.

All this while everything else in the world goes on in its apocalyptic hellscape way.

But I’m grateful to know we made the absolute best decision for our son and the future we want to have.

I was wondering what happened! What a fucking joke. Hopefully you get it reinstated after the appeal.

@justinhigdon.bsky.social You and I both know a local "activist" who is going to pretend this isn't what's happening, despite being directly affected.

Compounding the stress of the move is that we love the Asheville community we'll be leaving behind. Thankfully, my hometown is a relatively short drive (~90 minutes) so I'll be able to visit Asheville regularly, but in many ways, it will feel like fully starting over.

Change is hard.

Thankfully, I've started finding safe spaces there. I'm interacting more with the queer community, finding other progressives who share my views, and learning where (and where not) to spend my money. Still, the move is likely to be hard whenever it does happen.
