Am I supposed to be sad that a slave plantation turned “resort” was destroyed? Because I’m absolutely not.

We’ve been through a lot in the last four years that put my creative projects on the back burner, but lunch with @apottern.bsky.social helped reinvigorate my creative spirit. It was exactly the salve I needed. 💜

@blvckthornetattoo.bsky.social finished my half sleeve yesterday with some inner arm shading. I can’t wait for this baby to heal!

Even though the market rises because of the tariffs pause, the cost associated with the rest of the world realizing they can’t count on us not to be nuts will be immeasurable and far-reaching. 🇺🇸

Why do we like vaccines and water systems so much?

It used to be 50/50 whether your kid lived to be an adult. With 4 kids, 94% chance they wouldn't all make it.

Fun times. Maybe let's not do that again.

We don't have magic cures for diseases like measles. We have vaccines.

In the past few years I’ve had to make a lot of hard decisions: taking my dad off life support after his cardiac arrest, moving mom into our home with hospice after she stopped cancer treatments and watching her slip away, among others.

Today I made another hard decision.

Watching the entirety of the Arrowverse and THEN starting Prison Break is a trip. 😂

I really love the @katherineheigl.bsky.social Poise ad with the line about how she's not known for keeping quiet.

It airing as the commercial during Grey's Anatomy on Hulu is *chef's kiss* placement.

I keep thinking: "I hate it here."

But I can't just check out or be complacent. I have to make sure this world, this country, and this state are safe for my kid — and for all kids.

I hate it here, but I have to make it better.

I once had a bigoted family member tell me my parents were disappointed in me for my progressive beliefs.

I wish I’d said, “You’re right. Sometimes my socks don’t match and my parents both hated that. P.S. My parents were Democrats, asshole, and very proud of me.”

An Elon Musk staffer misused the U.S. Marshals Service by falsely invoking their authority to intimidate. USAID security personnel were threatened with action by the federal Marshals Service.

My mom died in June last year. Because my dad died in 2021, I now own but do not yet live in their house, my childhood home, which is mortgage-free. Living in a house without a mortgage and with many great memories is exciting. The problem: It's in a town being run by Christian nationalists.

I'm all for separating the art from the artist — AFTER the artist has died and no longer benefits from the consumption of the art.

People still supporting that TERF Joanne, abusers like Manson, Neil, Maynard, and all the others absolutely blows my mind. Stop giving these asshats your money.

It's been a week since I shared this story. It was a big step in my healing process and I'm grateful for all the love and support from folks who have read it.

Please, if you suspect an adult is taking advantage of a vulnerable teenager, say or do something.

I got my toddler some age-appropriate knives and kitchen tools for Christmas and he asks to chop vegetables every single day. This morning we made veggie soup! He peeled the carrots, zucchini, and squash then helped chop bell pepper and tomatoes. I’m so glad he loves cooking.
