I think it does have a mocking tone. “Was your god out for coffee?” is mean & lacking in compassion as a response to believing people victimized by violence. I’m sure they don’t need people piling on as they wrestle with those questions. But I take your point. It’s a legitimate question we all ask.

I enjoy your posts, and I’m a very left leaning, but as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, this post was pretty low. First of all, you assume all LDS people think they have special protections. Read our history. We don’t. Second, mocking shooting victims is not good.
