The answer of course is no. They are renters with little control over the price of real estate and and properly viewed as victims of overvalued real estate.

This is just another variation on the standard GOP lie that the poor people have all the money. The idea that the poorest people in the country are bidding up house prices is just dumb. Are banks giving mortgages to undocumented workers? Are undocumented workers paying cash for houses?

Honestly I would be OK with the GOP massively overplaying their hand. Which they would. No doubt about it. And without the filibuster we would be able to fix things.
