Several years ago I made a Black Velvet with proper Champagne and Guinness. I found it to be a dreadful waste of both very good wine and astoundingly mediocre stout.

If you think Canadian whisky is just light weight, entry level stuff, think again. Canada is today the most exciting whisky market in the world, producing everything from Irish style pot still to single malt, and punchy 100% rye to innovations on the bourbon methodology.

There was a quite widespread belief (in Denmark, Sweden, and Norway, at least) that placing a man's trousers on the fermentor would stop the beer from going bad.

I started with Orange Shitgibbon, which I still love but decided might be a bit too crude. So I went to Orange Buffoon, which I figure is a slightly toned down version of the Shitgibbon. But an FB friend just used Pumpkin Tits and I don't think there is any going back now!

Voted today in Ontario. When we told them that we haven't received voter cards yet, they said that very few had. ID was quickly verified and we voted no problem. Don't fret if you haven't received your card in the mail.

I just learned that apparently some Americans are attempting to insult Canadians by calling us 'Snow Mexicans.' I consider this to be a great compliment, as Mexico is a great country and all the Mexicans I know are lovely people!
