Really just milking the youth’s misplaced nostalgia for all it’s worth.

Yeah, you have to adopt the MAGA strategy but switch the direction. You capture 1/3 of a party’s vote. In the GOP, that let you guy things from the top down. They couldn’t function without that third effectively, so you sweep the whole institution. The left can’t work *vertically* like that.

Only works if you’re militantly backing a positive vision. If lefty politics is just about opposing Trump, can work. Has to be framed around new vision of the good life that the Dems can’t deliver on. Trump is basically a background voice in what needs to happen. Like a peanuts adult.

Looks like 1854-56. You use a vehicle like DSA to slowly launch an insurgency against the party with no authentic connections to their electorate. 2026 is used to set up the conflict. By 2028, you’re running an entirely different field of candidates.

That the status quo is untenable seems clear. What’s less clear is whether the hive mind of spineless politicos can be gutted from the bottom up. Might need to just abandon ship and set it ablaze.

Hard to see why anyone is still a democrat as this point. What is the party good for?

Leave it to dems to fold a winning hand. Can’t make this up.

To a significant extent, that stuff informs the work.

Have seen a lot of social media videos of MAGA people in NYC who voted for Mamdani. Reminiscent of the Trump-AOC voter from 2024.

I think that Pod is driven by a sort of intellectual freak show premise that’s bound to earn some fairly massive “can’t look away” audience.

But it’s a standard so low that nondelegation is de facto a matter of legislative judgment.
