It seems to be that in a world where most broadcast lies unchallenged some are celebrating anyone who might offer to say their piece in a crowded room with different opinions. I think we can celebrate that without deifying it.

It certainly feels like a coordinated marketing campaign. I’m sure the Signal groups have been very active to ensure uniformity in messaging. Claremont Institute playbook, perhaps.

Noah Smith’s piece today wasn’t wrong, though. The focus was on the self-immolation of progressive messaging due to infighting and attacking each other. Whether Bluesky is to blame or not he doesn’t make a compelling point.

Immigration as an economic issue is just window dressing … immigration is a tried-and-true reactionary lever to pull when you need to get people to join up. Responding with technocratic talking points is like talking to a puppet.
