Harmful, science-free, doubtmongering BS.

JUST IN: Missouri lawmakers redraw the state's voting map for next year's election, answering President Trump's call to help keep the Republican majority in Congress.
Missouri passes Trump-backed redistricting plan to help the GOP in the midterms
Opponents say the plan dilutes the power of Black voters around Kansas City and vow to block it in court or with a referendum. The governor, who's expected to sign the plan, says it reflects the state's conservative values.

MAGA Fascist Playbook in 4 simple points:

1. Frame politics as holy war. (existential "good vs evil")

2. Scapegoat enemies. ( as "demons," "Antichrists")

3. Declare an emergency. (nation under threat)

4. Seize power.

They derive these ideas from Nazi philosopher Carl Schmitt.

New in PN: The slide toward "competitive authoritarianism"

"Orbán subverted Hungary’s democracy with gerrymandering and by creating a nationwide right-wing media network. He put loyalists in the public prosecutor’s office, ensuring the judicial system would go after his enemies. Sound familiar?"
"Competitive authoritarianism" and America's slide toward it

I haven’t voted for a Republican in four years. What pisses off MAGA more, and is more effective in the argument… that I’m a Republican (for now) or not?

If someone thinks I’ll change what i believe to belong to something, they haven’t paid attention to who I am.
I recognize this is personal and I appreciate your work on the Jan 6 committee. I get that it is okay to be private about politics as one would be private about religion or sexuality. You are no longer a rep. But dude. At some point. How are you still a member of this party?

Why is it acceptable for the president to use taxpayer money to fly overseas and cut a ribbon at his own golf course?

Don’t normalize this abuse of office. It’s blatant corruption.

this clip perfectly illustrates how Republicans *successfully* flood the zone with conspiracy theories

1. Ron Johnson is asked about Epstein
2. He immediately changes the topic to Obama
3. The host chases the shiny object and asks about Obama. Johnson never has to weigh in on the Epstein coverup.

Republicans shut down the government and sent them home early all in an attempt to block Americans from getting the truth about the Epstein files. That's how badly this is going.

(Trump attempted a coup in 2021 so miss me with the false equivalences)

Yesterday, Maurene Comey, who prosecuted the Epstein case, was summarily fired from SDNY. Her letter to colleagues pulls no punches. "Fear is the tool of a tyrant, wielded to suppress independent thought."

This is patently false.

DHS has authority to question and search people coming into the country at points of entry.

But ICE may not detain and question anyone without reasonable suspicion — and certainly not based on their physical appearance alone.

This lawlessness must stop.

Military documents confirm that the LA operation today was a “show of presence” intended to send a message to LA residents about the power of the federal government.

After staging with armed soldiers and Border Patrol agents on horse, they packed up and left after a short walk.

Reading Trump's Mind:

"The deportations have started and they’re not going to stop. We keep the issue front and center—meanwhile we get ICE built up, and get people used to using the military at home. And I've got the Justice Department totally under control."

Trump sent the National Guard to California for a fake crisis—no fires, no floods, no emergency. But Texans facing real disaster? Nothing. No help. No compassion.

It’s not about red or blue.

It’s about Trump’s racism and the fact that he just doesn’t give a damn.

So am I reading this court decision correctly? We now have 50 micronations with their own laws interpreting the U.S. Constitution wholly separate from one another? But there's one guy with private law enforcement who is immune from all punishment who can do whatever he wants in those 50 states?

But may I say the Democratic establishment is SO pathetic? They couldn't be bothered to recruit or unite behind a better alternative than the repellent Andrew Cuomo? REALLY? In NYC, where Dem big shots live and have clout, indeed where both Dem Hill leaders are from?

NYT found the “big beautiful bill” would be the largest transfer from the poor to the rich in a single law since at least 1990.

In fact, it would be the largest transfer *ever.*

Reagan’s low-income cuts were MUCH smaller - and his tax cuts were done separately. And before him, nothing comes close.

The correct way to connect the authoritarian presence in LA and the Big Beautiful Bill is that the bill gives the government the resources to do this in dozens of cities at once. So if you don't like what's happening in LA, it's coming to your town if the bill passes.

Deploying the military on U.S. soil as law enforcement against Americans was on page 555 of Project 2025.

So don’t say “I didn’t vote for this,” because you did.

This isn’t a response.
This was always their plan.
