Chicago Bears Fan that would die for Caleb. Listen to the Bear Weather Fans podcast for unhinged ranting on what went wrong this week, every week.

Ported over from twitter after seeing just a tad too much fascist propaganda
And just a few plays before, you again saw a 12 personnel TE motion with the same singleback formation that WAS a run. Defense just can't key in on anything.

None of us can say what the future holds, but the biggest fear I had - that Ben Johnson was a schematic nerd who'd overrate the importance of scheme and underrate the grinding fundamentals and physicality - is gone.

Compare & Contrast Part 2: the other guys

Contrast that with Waldron, who was like late-career Nagy: individual routes in individual plays with nothing to do with each other. Theoretically sound concepts, but nothing built to work in sequence.

First-year Nagy DID have "plays on plays", because his playbook was actually Reid's.

A huge part of this was the difference in understanding of how to set up the play action game.

Johnson's philosophy of "make the same things look different and different things looks the same" is all about having a PA pass that works because it looks just like a run earlier in the game.

Lovie looked at the cost/benefit of getting more practice intensity in at the expense of about a third of the starters, and promptly never got that intense ever again

The point being - Coaches learn and develop through experience just like any other position

Urlacher was injured in camp and missed a ton of games, same with Jerry Azumah, RW McQuarters, Rex Tucker - around 1 in 3 starters. There was another starer injury, involving a guy who throws the ball that I don't even want to address

Bears star should be ready for season opener
After suffering a moderate strain in his right hamstring, Chicago Bears Pro Bowl middle linebacker Brian Urlacher will miss the rest of training camp, but he should be ready

Poor Micah man, I can't imagine.

Yeah kinda, but seeing as the safety was in the middle of the field, it makes sense to err towards the sidelines. Last season, Caleb so often erred on the side of throwing too deep, to the point where his teammates never had a chance. Is this throw ideal? No. Do I prefer it to erring too deep? Yes.

Man this was a great article but I really wish you'd put in a spoiler warning for The Rehearsal. That was actually a pretty big spoiler.
