Unsolicited advice, but since I know this all too well, Clip Paint actually has tools for that.
If you use Vector Layer and 'Fill up to vector path' on the Fill tool, it does a better job at it. And the 'Paint unfilled area' tool lets you easily fix any bad spots.

Sadly not a playable race for the next GW2 expansion, but at least they're *very* pretty to look at!!
