The Spy X Family one is part of a series for young learners that includes Hirigana and some early English. The Kinokuniya at the Chicago Mitsuwa had a Donbrothers Hirigana book too, but Zenkaiger is my first Sentai love. I could only find a link for that one.

Trying to find a mnemonic for the verb "to use" or tsukau/つかう in Japanese and I have found My People on Renshuu

Here's the apps that I've been using. Renshuu has a TON of resources for learning, but doesn't hold your hand a ton. Japanese! is good for learning kana. Dr. Moku is fine for kana too. Gus Japan and すくすくプラス are literal baby apps but they legit help with expanding vocab and learning to read.

One year ago yesterday I was at one of the last stops for the Harris-Walz campaign. The excitement from their last visit to the Forum had almost evaporated. Walz had turned down the "weirdos" bit. I went in hoping to get energized but left feeling disengaged.
Yesterday felt so much better.

Tales of Terror is the film where this infamous photo comes from. This is the line for auditions for the Black Cat in Act 2. 152 cats and their owners attended! Life magazine has a lovely gallery full of photos.

9) Tales of Terror (1962): Watch this! Three short stories from Edgar Allen Poe directed by Roger Corman. Price plays different characters in each story. A haunted father, a boastful wine taster, and a dead man who cannot die. His costars are amazing, especially the black cat he dotes on in act 2.

8) Diary of a Madman (1963): Price plays a magistrate haunted by a murderous, campy, deranged ghost that possesses him to kill. Brought to you in beautiful Technicolor to enjoy the sensational terror of a man who can't control his will. Price also gets to be a romantic in it. :)

One of the most emotional moments in wrestling this decade didn't even happen during a match! It's very much like a play or a movie. It's fun because the stories span many years and the performers are so athletically skilled to be able to do these stunts live. That's why people get so excited.

I'm rewatching the first episode of Dynamite and I forgot that Jake Hager debuted dressed like he's going to a job interview for his uncle's car dealership in Miami.

Nice. Hubby and I went to the Toledo zoo once and watched two monkeys do analingus directly above us.

It turns out apps for children are a really good way for me to pick up more Japanese vocabulary and learn to read better.

Watch me out here pumping my fist as I fucking CRUSH the bubble game.

6) The Raven (1969): Definitely walked into this thinking it'd be another Poe adaptation but it turns out it's 3 spooky juggernauts doing a kid's film about sorcerers. Boris Karloff and Price have a rad magic battle that almost makes the first 2/3rds worth it.
Also Jack Nicholson is there?

5) Price Wise (1971): I watched all six episodes of his cooking show. Each ep. focuses on international dishes with one ingredient in common with all of them. He's a great teacher, but BOY are these 70s dishes. I cannot urge you enough to watch the cheese one where he makes a Little Charcuterie Guy.

4) The Bat (1959): I realize I'm really leaning towards horror films for Vincent, which is fine. This was more of a murder mystery with a costumed home invasion gimmick. Price plays a very suspicious doctor who works with bats. His heel turn on the first 10 min rocks tho. Onto the next one.

3) House of Usher (1960): fucking stupendous. I was enthralled in the last half of this film. Price plays an overbearing older brother, Roderick Usher, who has superhuman sensory processing issues and hates his sister's fiancé. There are so many good "OH MY GOD" moments in this.

2) The House on Haunted Hill (1959): I love the opening being silence in darkness, then SCREAMING for a good minute. It doesn't waste much time getting to the good stuff (haunted bloodstains, paranoia, ghosts, acid pits, MURDER). You may know it from that one scene of the skeleton being friendly.

1) House of Wax (1953): The beginning always kills me. I want Jarrod to be left alone to perform his craft in peace so badly, but greed and sensationalism ruins everything (shocker). The way he hosts the Chamber of Horrors is delightfully campy. Amazing, even with the extended 3D paddleball segment.

Please visit Bartz's The Party Store in Menomonee Falls if you want the sickest 30 year old party decorations you've ever seen in your life.
And when you're done, cross the road and visit Halloween By Scary Jim for equally old pro wrestler masks.

Is there a reason why anime fighting tournament arenas are always big concrete grids? Is this based on something in reality? I've wondered about this for a long time.
