Wife, mom, volunteer, advocate, reader, sports fan, musical fan, secondary math teacher. Wisconsinite by way of Illinois. This is me.
@SenRonJohnson vote no. I think we have differing reasons for doing it, but do it anyway.
This bill hurts Wisconsinites.
Vote no. (See also my voicemail and X post and Threads post....)

Our lack of interconnected public transit sucks...
Took the train Mke to Chicago, had a great experience. Wish there were more options available like that.

1990s I was a child. I believed the US was infallible.
2002, I feared strikes on US soil, classmates were deployed, and soon my students were.
2025, who's next to send? More students? My own child?
I'm over this involvement in the Middle East on the word of a leader who has an ulterior motive.

For the first time since 1975, the Wisconsin legislature/Joint Finance is giving a 0% increase in education funding. Plus special education is funded at 30% and we got a "maybe" for incresing that.
We won't keep up with inflation.
The response can and will be referendums.

How is Chris Kluwe my favorite former NFL player?
Maybe it's the lack of CTE that keeps him sane post-career.

We've had an international summer, a summer of big changes, quiet summers...this summer I'm aiming for a "Notice & Do" summer or a "See a Need, Fill a Need" summer.

Starting here at home (oh, you noticed the dishes need to be put away? Cool, now do it!) but also in our community.

We got solar a month ago.
~50% of what we use comes from the grid (before 🌅 and after 🌇)
and 50% is 🌞.
PLUS here everything else we produce goes pays at 4-1.
We are producing ~5x what we use. The energy we are using from the grid we are returning, paying off what we use plus 20%. #solar-powered

Problems schools can't fix without community action:
Chronic absenteeism
Students vaping
Students fighting each other

These things need an all hands on deck approach.
All of them. All the hands from all the places.

Happy Mother's Day to all celebrating someone or being celebrated.
Moms make the world go 'round, cuz somebody has to and we crush at it.

I want politics to be about a better everyday life.

Here's what that can look like:

First year since....2015 or so that I was in church for Palm Sunday and Easter.
I've missed it, sort of. All in all, I'm glad I went.
My grandma would love this Methodist congregation.

Dr Peter Marks, "Vaccines have been studied very extensively for being potentially associated with autism"

"That theory has been debunked"

"One study in Denmark, over 600,000 children. It shows that if anything, children had a lower rate of autism than unvaccinated children"

Make that 3 of 4 in our family personally impacted by cuts.
Me, public school teacher. (I guess the kids count for this one, too)
Spouse, public health employee.
Kid 2, National History Day competitor.
Kid 1...yet to be seen.

Holy democracy Batman!
Cory Booker was a light on the darkness to start the day.
And then...Wisconsin 😍
Way to be (in 2/3 of the big votes), WI!

Rewatching Gilmore Girls with the hubs.
I 100% stand by being #TeamJess.
Dean is lovely and safe but clingy.
Logan is fun and exciting but a bad influence.
Jess wasn't nice to start but matures and then challenges her and expects her to reach her potential.

Vaccines. 💪🏻💪🏻
And yet Joe Rogan puts guests on who say "Vaccines aren't actually responsible for the reduction in infectious diseases.”

We’re dealing with a coup and a slew of human rights issues and I’m supposed to just go to parent teacher conference like nothing’s going on.

Download 5 calls.
Make the calls.
I use speaker phone so I can read the script (and add my own personal touches).
Tell them to stand up and do their job!

It’s National School Counseling Week! School counselors are essential to student success. They provide academic guidance, support emotional well-being, and ensure every student has the support they need to succeed. Join us in thanking school counselors for their dedication to our students! #NSCW25

This guy is doing great work in this arena, in addition to being a kick ass author.
This could be a huge loss worldwide.
We worked for months with USAID to build an $85,000,000 project to end TB in two regions of the Philippines.

The project is funded by private money, the Philippine government, and matching USAID funds.

It could provide a blueprint for eliminating TB worldwide--except it's...not happening.

Called my sen and rep to let them know the K-12 Indoctrination EO is trash. Got through to my rep & gave that intern an earful, respectfully.
Kids need to be able to be themselves & find themselves. Preventing staff from providing medical care is a made up nonissue. Preferred names hurt no one.

Nothing like starting the week with a reminder that schools are targets for violent attacks. Only in this country.
