It's such a beautiful craft and I'd hate for the world to ever be without it. Or at least, without certain stitches

Can I set this point aside & talk about gatekeeping? Because a lot of old techniques (from producing particular paints to how a fibre was processed) are now unknown to us .. because the ppl who knew did not want to share knowledge.
If you've ever wondered how the art techniques of ancient cultures become lost/impossible to reproduce, wonder no more. It's happening right now, all around us. If masters die without training replacments, we lose their knowledge forever, AI and capitalism are currently speedrunning that process.

The ideal artistic life for me would be just making stuff and no one even knows my name or what I look like and I'm not remotely famous and still can make a living. But that doesn't exist anymore. You have to relentlessly remind people you're a real human being who deserves to be paid for their work

Not sure people realise how hard it's been recently for artists to survive, or how deeply appreciated every single order is. If you can't buy something, it makes a huge difference just to share our work. If you can't share our work, a little sacrifice to the Old Gods on our behalf means a lot, too 💜

Took our 6 month old to the Wild Lights at the zoo this evening. She slept for the first half and was more interested in the zip on my jacket for the rest
