On the eve of his election, Mamdani courageously reiterated his support for BDS, citing his consistent belief that New York should uphold international law. Election results show that Mamdani won not despite supporting Palestinian liberation but partly because of it.

The tide is truly turning.

Mamdani’s victory is a proof of concept: a radical program that promises to overhaul the corrupt, rigged system can win if supported by people power and large intersectional coalitions.

He laid out an intersectional vision for a New York that invests in care and community, calling for global justice, including for the Palestinian people, and rejecting militarism.

Let’s unite our struggles and escalate popular pressure to hold Israel, its UAE partner, and the governments, institutions and companies that enable their crimes accountable.

From Palestine to Sudan, from Yemen to the Congo, our struggle is one.

Since the signing of the Abraham Accords in 2020, Israel's arms exports to participating states, including the UAE and Sudan, sharply increased to reach around $1.8 billion in 2024.

Multiple investigative reports have revealed that the UAE regime supplied the Rapid Support Forces with weapons and drones, enabling the RSF to commit war crimes and crimes against humanity.

We reiterate our call to:

- Boycott the Emirati regime;
- Escalate pressure on governments;
- Escalate pressure on major arms manufacturers especially Israeli and U.S. companies.

The Palestinian BDS National Committee expresses its deepest solidarity with our kindred people of Sudan, who are facing mass atrocities, and what may amount to genocide, forced displacement and ethnic cleansing, especially in the city of El Fasher.
