Des del 1929 es troba al capdamunt de #laRambla, una mica per accident. Juntament amb set fanals més havia d’il·luminar la plaça de Catalunya, però el projecte monumental de Puig i Cadafalch no va reeixir i la solució va ser posar-lo (era l’únic llum que estava acabat) a l’emplaçament actual
