I would LOVE a Republican Party not descending into fascist authoritarianism. But that’s just not the situation on the ground and tactics need to reflect that. Fighting fascism just means political domination over fascists. Compromising for a bit of fascism is a nonstarter.

I think this is right in principle but (sadly or not) no longer describes America. When one side sends lawless thugs to kidnap people, ignores the law, and acts with impunity borne of a nakedly partisan SCOTUS decision, there’s no way “competent government” & “political domination” can be separated.
