Hey, Kids! Kansas City.

Pop culture obsessive, sports guy (sorry), fan of kitsch, tiki, and intellectual wankery.

Forgot how much I loved Todd Snider's first album when it came out. Despite being a massive music consumer, I somehow lost touch with his output, and I dunno why.

In the wake of his tragic early death I've been poking around his catalog, and there's great stuff in there.

The biggest problem with Conservatives is that they always attack the negative end result of their policies as the actual problem.

It's like pushing people off a mountain and blaming the landing.

Every time I try to give the Catholic church a break, something like this pops up.

Hey, if you're wondering what that smell has been for the past half hour, it would be the cookies I put in the oven without a timer and forgot.

Trump's response is to direct his DOJ to investigate Dems and Epstein.

He's hoping that enough tired old Democrats are in there that it'll back them down, but that just reinforces how good it is that younger, more progressive Democrats are starting to push the tired old mainstream out of their way

After thoroughly enjoying the first episode of PLURIBUS, I'm especially impressed with the casting of Peter Bergman, who was PERFECT in the role, after like 40 years on soaps.

Vince Gilligan shows are always cast beautifully, top to bottom.

THIS
Those claiming Dems should retreat on racial justice aren't hard-headed realists, they're pushing against the electoral tide rather than leaning into it. The story of Gen Z isn't about racist backlash or red-pilled young men. It's the most racially progressive generation in American history. 🧵

And now Feldman is quizzing a group of children after a Punch and Judy show, lit cig in hand.

Brings me back to my own childhood, raised on secondhand smoke.

Somehow I stumbled over Marty Feldman interviewing Dudley Moore in their prime.

YouTube algorithms can still baffle me, but now and then they hit the target.

NEW: The first two years of Massachusetts' millionaire tax has raised $3 billion more than expected.

And rather than driving the rich away, IPS researchers found that the number of millionaires has *increased.*

Millionaire Tax That Inspired Mamdani Fuels $5.7 Billion Haul in Massachusetts
A millionaire levy in Massachusetts that New York City mayoral frontrunner Zohran Mamdani holds up as a model for taxing the rich has generated $3 billion more in revenue than expected without forcing...

This page doesn't have lots of action or neck ripping, but it's one of my favorites from BLOODLAND 2. Mack Chater is just slaying in all aspects of art and color.

Or, as he incorrectly spells it, "colour."

First issue out in January, from Ignition Press. We're filling a full year with this book.

This country, despite 250 years of PR, is really not built to handle adversity.

I'm really not on board with "Don't blame the Democratic party because 8 members chickened out."

Democrats' lack of spine handed us Trump twice, and their fear of progressive politics and change was never more evident than in their terror over a Democratic Socialist coasting to easy victory in NYC.

Picked up this Wichita Wind Surge cap in Wichita this weekend. Minor league team in town.

Wichita is windier than Chicago, thanks to being surrounded by flatness for miles and miles. I appreciate a team owning it.

But I love the colors, and don't mind repping the ICT up here in fancypants KC.

Yesterday was rarely beautiful here, aside from the fucking stupid cold.

Democrats gave us Trump twice, shit their pants when an actual Progressive was clearly going to dominate an election in New York, and then rolled over with nothing gained to let the GOP destroy health care.

The "opposition" party fucking sucks, and that's why we're done.

This weekend at Air Capital Comic Con in Wichita, the thing that made the most people stop at my table was my super nerdy Yunzii wireless keyboard/vintage typewriter.

I should get a commission for any they ship to the 316.

The Packers are missing half their receiving corps, and I'm not saying they'll lose tonight, but I get tired of people saying injuries aren't an excuse, because everyone has injuries, when the teams that win tend to be the ones who *aren't* missing multiple key players. In any sport.
